We're a place for children to explore the arts, make new friends, create, and learn new things using their own ideas! Our centre firmly believes in a process-over-product approach, with our goals and practices being rooted in play, exploration, and a joy of learning and for the arts

What makes us different is our philosophy that children learn best when they are having fun, and when they have opportunities to ask questions, challenge themselves, play and create!

This is why we strive to create an environment that inspires joy, curiosity, and creativity.

The basis of everything we do here is built on our understanding that when children are interested, curious, and excited about what they are doing, they will be more motivated to continue, to try new things, to ask questions and to seek out answers - which all lead to learning!

As Plutarch said:

"The mind is not a vessel to be filled,

but a fire to be kindled."

This philosophy can be found in each and every class and service that we offer.

From group arts programs to private music lessons:

Our goal is to share our love for the arts with others -

in the most fun and exciting ways possible!

Why the name?

Not only is "Creative Mode" a popular gaming term that brings to mind words such as freestyle, imagination, open-ended and limitless, but it is also a Montessori term that refers to the exploration and creation of art without a point of reference to copy. These are all a part of our philosophy and methodology at Creative Mode: creating opportunities for children to explore their own ideas in their own ways; open-ended, limitless.

Our Dream

We are a pair of artists and educators in our mid-twenties who love the arts as much as we love teaching. Our experiences across music, drama, science and art, both as students and teachers, have allowed us to learn and create a variety of diverse approaches to learning in these fields. However, we've also often encountered a formal and rigid structure in arts education that can too easily transform learning into a tedious task rather than an exciting journey - often to the point of it practically seeming like a chore. Recognizing the innate curiosity, imagination, and joy in every child, we believe there's a disconnect between traditional teaching methods and how children naturally learn and engage.

This realization inspired us to establish our own arts centre, grounded in the philosophy of putting children's interests and creativity at the heart of our educational approach. We envisioned an educational space where learning is not a task but a treasure hunt, where each child's curiosity and creativity lead the way. We aim to make the arts an engaging and integral part of each child's daily life, turning piano lessons or art classes into experiences as fulfilling as a dance recital and as exhilarating as a soccer game!

In our centre, we foster an environment where children are encouraged to express themselves, ask questions, and contribute their own insights. We are a space where we prioritize the children's interests and ideas in all of our planning and teaching; where children are not talked at, but are encouraged to speak freely, ask questions, and share their own knowledge; where each child can feel safe and comfortable, and dive into their favourite subjects - whatever they may be! Creative Mode is where learning and fun go hand-in-hand, and the journey on the way to our goals is just as significant and exciting as the goal itself. Because that is how children - how people work!

We understand that monotonous and compulsory learning methods are generally not conducive to effective learning at any age. Hence, our commitment is to fill every day with creativity and fun, aligning with our belief that education should be a joyful and enriching experience. We are excited to share our passion for the arts with your child, and are confident that they will love the journey as much as we do.
